Get to Know Me

Fellow Human, Coffee drinker, Nature Lover

I haven't always been a therapist. My first degree was in Psychology, and before that I worked as a healthcare assistant in a nursing home. Both of those experiences fostered within me a profoundly deep love and respect for the power of human connection. I witnessed the difference it made.

My passion for counselling was born when my eldest son was diagnosed with ASD. I became acutely aware and focused on our communication needs, as we were experiencing real difficulties in this area. I felt there must be something more that I could do to help us both, so I enrolled in 4 years of counselling study and I've never looked back.

That was a long time ago, my eldest son is all grown up now, with a wicked sense of humour, infectious smile and unapologetic sense of self. I'm forever grateful for our experiences and journey together, as it is the reason I found my way into this work and continue to have the career that I am so passionate about.

I have studied and applied many different techniques and therapeutic interventions over the years, which have helped me to help so many people. I completed my EMDR training with Gus Murray, the president of the EMDR All Ireland Association in Cork. This comprehensive and advanced form of psychotherapy is yet another way in which I am better able to support you.

It has been my privilege and an honour to be able to do the work that I do. I know first hand just how much of a difference it can make in our lives when we are seen, heard, valued and supported just as we are, for who we truly are.

Make yourself the priority you are and reach out today to rediscover the real you.
